• Hawai'i came from behind, winning Sets 4 and 5 to down Big Ten opponent Northwestern in the season opener, 18-25, 25-18, 22-25, 25-21, 15-7.
• On Night #2 of the Hawaiian Airlines Rainbow Wahine Classic, UH upset 13th-ranked San Diego in four sets, 27-25, 25-22, 18-25, 25-22.
