HONOLULU – The University of Hawai'i men's golf team is headed to the desert to compete in the Grand Canyon University Invitational, Monday, March 14 and Tuesday, March 15 at the GCU Golf Course in Phoenix, Ariz.
The GCU Invite is UH's third tournament of the spring season. Hawai'i competed in the tournament from 2018 and '19 and were scheduled to compete in 2020 before the start of the pandemic cancelled the event.
Making the trip to Phoenix for the Rainbow Warriors will be
Tyler Ogawa,
Pierce Braun,
Ratio Visuttipinate,
Garrett Takeuchi, and
Atsuya Oishi. Ogawa leads the team with a 74.2 scoring average.
The field of 23 will play 36 holes on Monday and 18 on Tuesday at the 7,200-yard, par-72 course. Shotgun start is 7:45 a.m. MT, both days.
Following the tournament, the Warriors will remain on the continent to compete in the UC San Diego Invitational, March 21-22 in Carlsbad, Calif.
