LEXINGTON, Ky.—A pair of University of Hawai'i women's volleyball players earned American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) Pacific North All-Region honors on Tuesday. Senior outside hitter Brooke Van Sickle earned All-Region honors, while sophomore middle blocker Amber Igiede was tabbed All-Region Honorable Mention for the second-consecutive season.
 
The versatile Van Sickle led the Rainbow Wahine finished the season averaging a Big West-best 4.47 points per set (points=kills + aces + blocks). She led UH in kills (384), kill/set (3.73), service aces (38), aces/set (0.37), and points (460.5). She was second on the team with 324 digs and third (behind only UH's middle blockers) with 63 blocks. Van Sickle is the second-straight Big West Player of the Year from Hawai'i to earn All-North Region honors. She follows Norene Iosia who earned the award in 2019. (The Big West did not compete in women's volleyball in 2020 due to COVID-19).
 
Igiede powered Hawai'i down the stretch of the season. She finished leading the 'Bows with a .386 hitting percentage (308-67-624) and 131 total blocks (23 solo/108 assist). Igiede was also the first middle since 2002 to record over 200 kills, 100 blocks, and 100 digs. Igiede finished with 308 kills, 131 total blocks and 111 digs. She has recorded at least one block in 56 consecutive matches, dating back to her fourth match as a freshman in 2019.
 
Van Sickle is the 41st different Rainbow Wahine to be named AVCA All-Region First Team. Those 41 players have accounted for 80 all-region honors. Igiedie earned UH's seventh All-Region Honorable Mention award. She is joins Juliana Sanders, Amber Kaufman, and Emily Maglio as UH middles to earn the honor.

Van Sickle is the only player from a non-power five conference to be named All-Pacific North Region. In the Pacific South Region, UC Santa Barbara's middle blockers Rowan Ennis was named to the all-region team while Deni Wilson earned honorable mention honors along with Long Beach State's outside hitter Kashauna Williams.
