Kotaro Murata carded a 4-over 76 to lead the University of Hawai'i men's golf team in the second round of the inaugural Hoakalei Country Club Invitational Tuesday.
The Matsuyama, Japan native, is UH's top golfer at 7-over 151 and tied for 89
th place heading into Wednesday's third and final round.
Louisville, the tournament's highest ranked team at No. 10, posted the round of the day (277) to move up four spots into a tie for the team lead with 32
nd-ranked East Tennessee State at 562. The Round 1 leader Ole Miss is third, two strokes back at 564.
San Diego's Harrison Kingsley and ETSU's Shiso Go are tied atop the player leaderboard at 8-under 136. Three golfers are one stroke back.
