HONOLULU – In an effort to enhance school pride, the University of Hawai'i Athletics Department will launch "H Day," a campaign that encourages everyone to wear H-logo or green apparel every Friday. H Day officially begins Friday, Feb. 1.
"We are proud of our coaches and teams and what they do in the classroom, on the field of play, and in the community," said Athletics Director David Matlin. "As they represent us here and on the mainland, we can show our support by wearing our H gear on game days and Fridays. Be the team behind the team and get your H on!"
In partnership with the UH–Mānoa Bookstore, special in-store promotions for H-logo gear will run each month. This week's promotion is 20% off one regular-priced H-logo apparel from Jan. 30-Feb. 2 at the Mānoa Bookstore and at the H-Zone Stan Sheriff Center (during games only).
The campaign will kick off with an "H Day" celebration, Feb. 1 from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the Campus Center Courtyard with prizes and giveaways and special appearances from the UH band and cheerleaders, coaches and student-athletes.
Fans attending the UH men's volleyball match on Feb. 1 against Stanford are encouraged to wear green UH apparel.
