HONOLULU - The University of Hawai`i men's basketball team hosts its first Western Athletic Conference home game of the year when it takes on Nevada on Saturday, Jan. 12. Tipoff is at 7:05 p.m. at the Stan Sheriff Center.
The showdown with the Wolf Pack is the first of three straight WAC home games for the 'Bows who opened league play on the road last week. UH is 1-1 thus far, falling to conference favorite Utah State, 86-80, and dropping San Jose State, 85-79.
UH is led by four seniors who are averaging double-digit scoring. Bobby Nash leads the way at 16.2 ppg, followed by Matt Gibson (15.8), Riley Luettgerodt (13.4) and Jared Dillinger (10.1).
Nevada has yet to play a conference game this year after having its home game versus Utah State postponed this last Saturday due to inclement weather. The Wolf Pack have won the last four WAC regular-season titles and have been picked to finish third by both the coaches and media in their respective preseason polls.
Saturday is "Green & White Night" with fans in one half of the arena asked to wear green shirts, while fans in the other half requested to wear white shirts. Click Here for the schematic.

This Week's Opponent - Nevada: Nevada is the only team that has not played a Western Atheltic Conference game yet after its contest versus Utah State on Saturday, Jan. 5 was postponed due to inclement weather. The Wolf Pack will play its first WAC game at San Jose State on Thursday night before heading out to the islands. Nevada, the four-time defending WAC champion, owns an 8-5 non-conference mark, incuding a 106-70 loss at No. 1 North Carolina on Dec. 27. Nevada is led by explosive guard Marcelus Kemp. The 6-5 senior guard paces the Wolf Pack at 19.1 ppg . Sophomore post player JaVale McGee chips in 13.4 ppg and a team-high 8.8 rpg.
UH-Nevada Series History: This will be the 22nd all-time meeting between the teams with Nevada leading the series, 12-9. This will be the 16th meeting as Western Athletic Conference opponents. Nevada has won the last three meetings and six of the last seven, including a 68-66 overtime win in Honolulu last year.
