LA JOLLA, Calif. - Three University of Hawai`i throwers were in action on day one of the rain-shortened UC San Diego Triton Invitational, Friday, at Triton Stadium. Following the completion of the women's hammer throw, inclement weather halted both the discus and pole vault events.

Junior Meghan Weaver posted the best mark of the day among the UH competitors, with a throw of 154-2 (46.99m) for a 27th place finish. Also competing were Ava Marie Cavaco, who heaved 141-11 (43.26m) and placed 36th and Brittani Daniels, who threw 125-5 (38.24m) for 47th place.

Jenny Dahlgren of Georgia won the event with a toss of 230-9 (70.33m).

The meet concludes on Saturday with both the throwing and jumping events beginning at 9:00 a.m. and the running events starting between 11:00 a.m. and 7:00 p.m.
