Murray Still Going Strong At Mt. SAC

WALNUT, Calif. - University of Hawai`i thrower Novelle Murray continued her dominating senior season with a fourth place finish in the hammer throw at the Mt. SAC Relays, Saturday, at Hilmer Lodge Stadium.

Murray, a senior from Surry, British Columbia, eclipsed the NCAA regional standard for the second time this year with a throw of 180-4 (54.98m). USC's Julia Rozenfeld took the individual title at 198-7 (60.54m). Ava Marie Cavaco, a junior from Mililani, O`ahu, also competed in the event and threw 127-8 (38.92m).

Meghan Weaver, a junior from London, Ontario, placed fourth with a throw of 144-7 (44.08m) in the discus. Weaver, a regional qualifier in three throwing events last year, has made standard in the shot put this season.

The Rainbow Wahine continue their weeklong trip through the Los Angeles area, with the final day of the Mt. SAC Relays on Sunday.
