WALNUT, Calif. - The University of Hawai'i women's track and field team completed day one of the prestigious Mt. SAC Relays, Friday, at Hilmer Lodge Stadium.
The highlight of the day occured in the circle, where freshman Alana Faagai set a new personal best in the discus with a throw of 147-10 (45.05m). Earlier in the day, Faagai threw 147-3 (44.88m) at the Azusa Pacific Invitational.
The Rainbow Wahine finished 1-2 in the pole vault as Jessica Trujillo cleared 11-11.75 (3.65m) to take the section title. Samantha Weaver finished in a four-way tie for second at 11-5.75 (3.50m).
The meet continued throughout the weekend as more UH athletes will be in action on Saturday and Sunday.
