RICHMOND, Va. - University of Hawai`i Rainbow baseball head coach
Mike Trapasso was one of three finalists for the College Baseball Insider National Coach of the Year award, announced on their website Thursday.
Trapasso led the 'Bows to a 17-win improvement in 2006 as UH went 45-17, qualifying for their first NCAA Regional since 1993. The team also posted a program-record 16 wins on the road, holding the nation's third-best road record at 16-5.
Kentucky's John Cohen and UCLA's John Savage were the other two finalists, with Cohen being awarded National Coach of the Year honors.
