HONOLULU - The University of Hawai'i and Iowa State women's tennis match was postponed after inclement weather forced the teams to abandon singles play, Sunday, at the UH Tennis Complex.
The teams finished doubles play with the Rainbow Wahine (0-10) winning two of the three matches. Juniors Kana Aikawa and Jacqui Williams were first to finish defeating Elizabeth Chermel and Kara Hickey at the No. 2 position, 8-6. At the No. 3 court, sophomore Chloe Bihag and junior Florence Wasko beat Chrissy Derouin and Danielle Uscinski in an exciting match, 9-8(5). Sophomore Julia Sandborn and freshman Erin Katayama dropped a heartbreaker to Jill Palen and Eve Soriano, 9-8(3), at the No. 1 position.
Following the conclusion of the doubles matches, rain throughout Manoa Valley caused the singles matches to be postponed. No makeup date has been scheduled.
The Rainbow Wahine's next match will be on Monday, March 13 against Portland (2-11) at the UH Tennis Complex.
