TEMPE, Ariz.- The University of Hawai'i Warrior golf team ended the 33rd annual Arizona State-hosted Thunderbird Invitational in 14th place after shooting 305 as a team in the third and final round on the 7,025 yard, par 71 Karsten golf course. UH finished with a 54-hole total of 901.
Junior Jarett Hamamoto, who was the Warriors top finisher, shot a four-over 75 in the final round, which landed him a tie for 37th with a 54-hole total of 223. Also competing for the Warriors were freshman Ryan Perez (227, T59), senior Kellen-Floyd Asao (229, T69), freshman Travis Toyama (231, T73) and sophomore Pierre-Henri Soero (234, T76).
UNLV held-off a third round rally by Pepperdine to take home the team championship after finishing with a 54-hole total of 859. Arizona's Kipp Riehle, who competed for the Wildcats as a non-scoring individual, ran away with the individual title after firing a three-under 68 in the third round. Riehle finished with a 54-hole total of 206, six strokes in front of teammate and runner-up Nathan Lashley. Up next for the Warriors will be their final regular season competition of the year as they travel to Provo, Utah for the 2005 Ping Cougar Classic on April 22-23.
