LOS ANGELES - Four University of Hawai`i track athletes won their respective events while four others placed in the top three during Day 2 of the Rafer Johnson/Jackie Joyner-Kersee Invitational, Friday, at UCLA's Drake Stadium. Freshman

Sabrina Reeve captured top honors in the shot put, 200m dash, 800m run, and 3000m run.
UH's four first place finishes tied Brigham Young with the most in the women's competition. Host UCLA had three first place finishes.
Weaver got things started with a throw of 13.92m to win the shot put, edging UC Davis' Kim Gleeson, who tossed 13.56m. Also competing in the event was freshman Bianca DeBartolo who tied her lifetime best throw of 11.61m to finish seventh.
In the 200m, Monroe raced past the field by finishing in 24.72 seconds, narrowly missing her season-best time by one-hundredth of a second. UC Davis' Danielle Green came in second place at 25.94. Sophomore Candace Rosenthal finished 10th at 27.52.
In the nightcap, the distance runners participated in a distance carnival. Young took home the gold in the 800m, edging BYU's Michelle Lindsay and Utah State's Jill Steele, by finishing the lap in 2:09.09.
Sophomore Ashley Monfort came in eighth in the "B" section field at 2:24.51.
Entering her first collegiate 3000m run, Reeve outdistanced the field by more than six seconds in winning top honors. Reeve finished the course in 9:34.47.
Sophomore Patricia Gauthier set a school record and NCAA Regional qualifying mark of 3.80m in the pole vault. She finished second to BYU's Mandy Kelly (3.90). By qualifying for the Regionals, Gauthier is the third Rainbow Wahine to post qualifying marks this season.
In the 1500m, sophomore Dana Buchanan ran a school-record 4:28.40 to take home second place behind BYU's Ann Marie Thomas (4:26.47). Sophomores Sheena Thain (4:56.61) and Chantelle Laan (5:04.31) finished ninth and 10th in the section "B" field.
In the discus, junior Novelle Murray threw 51.27m to finish second behind UCLA's Briona Reynolds (51.98m). The two, along with third place Gleeson, posted NCAA Regional Qualifying marks. Murray already qualified for the Regionals with her performance at the Stanford Invitational in March. Weaver finished sixth in the event with a throw of 42.40m.
Sophomore Ku'ulei Karratti placed third in the 100m dash, finishing behind UCLA's Renee Williams and Candice Baucham. Karratti crossed the finish line in 12.85 seconds. Rosenthal finished sixth at 13.23.
In other action, DeBartolo recorded another lifetime best with a jump of 5.29m in the long jump. Sophomore Patricia Gauthier placed 10th in the 100m hurdles (15.06), while sophomores Jessica Rohr and Haunani Bertelmann finished 9th and 14th, respectively, in the 400m hurdles.
The meet concludes on Saturday.
