AZUSA, Calif. - University of Hawai`i freshman
Bianca DeBartolo is in ninth place after the first day of the California Invitational Heptathlon, Wednesday, on the Azusa Pacific campus. DeBartolo tallied 2,735 points after the day's first four events.
Leading the event after Day 1 is Colorado State's Katie Lloyd (3,102). DeBartolo, the only Rainbow Wahine competing in the meet, placed sixth in the 100m hurdles (15.38), 14th in the high jump (1.47m), fifth in the shot put (11.67m), and 11th in the 200m dash (26.95).
The Bondi, NSW, Australia native, recorded personal bests in the high jump, shot put, and 200m. The event concludes on Thursday with the long jump, javelin, and 800m run.
