AUSTIN, Texas - University of Hawai`i women's track and field team today completed the final day of the 77th Clyde Littlefield Texas Relays held at the campus of the University of Texas at Austin's Mike A. Myers Stadium. UH had one athlete make a NCAA Regional Automatic Qualifying standard during the competition.
Junior long jumper Tasha Monroe posted the best individual finish by any Rainbow Wahine in the meet. She leaped 5.98m (19-07.5) that captured fourth place overall among the University/College category. Monroe better her career-best set earlier this season and is now fourth on the UH all-time list.
Sophomore Novelle Murray came in seventh place overall in the discus with a toss of 45.41m (149-00). It was Murray's second best effort of the spring.
Senior Robin McRobbie missed her all-time best time by only nine seconds. Her time of 11 minutes, 15.29 seconds in the 3,000-meter Steeplechase placed 11th overall. Teammate Monica Su, a freshman, finished 15th in the event with a time of 11:47.91, which was good enough for fourth-best on the UH all-time list.
The Rainbow Wahine next host the first of five Sunset Meets at Cooke Field April 10 beginning at 4 p.m.
