UH Turns in Numerous Personal Bests at Long Beach State Invite

LONG BEACH, Calif. - The University of Hawai`i women's track team participated today in the Springco-Long Beach State Invitational at Jack Rose Track and posted many personal bests during the day.

UH's Tasha Monroe had a big day for the Rainbow Wahine as she captured third place in the 200m dash (24.37), tied for fourth in the high jump (1.58m), and placed 13th in the 100m dash (12.25). Her marks in the 200m dash and high jump are personal bests. She now stands in sixth on the UH all-time lists in the 200m dash and fifth in the high jump.

UH totaled numerous personal best during the meet. Ashley Monfort bettered her time in the 400m dash (57.90), while teammates Robin McRobbie (18:13.80), Jenn Bell (18:34.51), and Monica Su (19:25.39) all surpassed their previous top performances in the 5,000m run.

Also turning in top individual bests were Jessica Rohr in the 400m hurdles (1:04.72) and Novelle Murray in both the discus (48.77m / 160-00) and hammer (44.54m / 146-01).

Dana Buchanan finished in second place in the 1500m run (4:31.46), while Kelly Young, who broke the school record on Friday in the 800m run (2:07.47), took second today in the same event with a time of 2:07.97.
