Chang, Bremler Recognized

HONOLULU - The 2004 United States Track Coaches Association recognized the University of Hawai'i track & field team, along with individuals Victoria Chang and Hanna Bremler, today it released the NCAA Division I All-Academic teams. It is the first-ever recognition for the track program.

As a squad, UH earned All-Academic Women's Team Honors posting a 3.20 grade point average under head coach Carmyn James, placing itself in a tie for 27th overall among the Division I women's programs. Leading the women's division was Bradley University maintaining a 3.46 gpa under head coach David Beauchem.

Chang and Bremler are the only two individual Rainbow Wahine named to the list. Chang, a junior from Honolulu, sported a 3.76 gpa, while Bremler, a freshman from Tyreso, Sweden, posted a 3.61 gpa.

This is the second academic distinction for UH since James took over the program three years ago, as the cross country program also earned academic distinction last fall.
