UH's Moreno Fourth in the 3-Meter at the Hawai`i Diving Invitational

Moreno Earns Her Best Championship Score of the Season

HONOLULU- The University of Hawai`i divers competed in the second and final day of the Hawai`i Diving Invitational this morning at the Duke Kahanamoku Aquatics Complex. The meet featured Rainbow divers Mike Gowdy and Jonathan Coyle,while Victorya Moreno represented the Rainbow Wahine.

The meet began with the men's 1-meter diving and was followed by women's 3-meter. Gowdy and Coyle took the top two spots in the 1-meter event, with scores of 300.45 and 285.20, respectively. Trailing them were divers from the Wisconsin-Stevens Point, Drury, and New Hampshire.

Moreno had a fantastic day as she dived to a fourth place finish with a score of 388.60, the best of the season in the 3-meter championship format. The top spot in the event went to Wisconsin's K C Bunnell, who scored 420.00.

The University of Hawai'i men's and women's swimming and diving teams are preparing to face off against Wisconsin and New Hampshire. The meet is slated for Jan. 10 at 6 p.m. and will be held at the Duke Kahanamoku Aquatics Complex. The 3-meter diving will preceed the event at 4 p.m.
