University of Hawai`i Shows Their Skills at Senior Circuit

HONOLULU- Despite rain and cold weather, the University of Hawai'i men's and women's swimming teams showed their skills at the second Senior Meet of the season. The event, held last night at the Duke Kahanamoku Aquatics Complex, was not scored.

The Rainbow Wahine had a strong start as Jessica Nohara notched the top spot in the 200 Free, finishing with a time of 1:56.20. She also took first in the 200 Back, with a time of 2:08.96 and finished second in the 200 Fly, hitting the wall at 2:10.24.

Jaclyn Rosen and Michelle Vos took the first and third spots in the 100 Back, finishing with times of 1:00.57 and 1:03.02, respectively.

The women had a solid finish in the 50 Free, taking three of the top four spots,with second place going to Stephanie Regucera, who finished at 25.28. Third went to Vos, 25.39 and fourth was picked up by Whitney Field with her time of 25.69.

Field took third in the 100 Free, touching the wall at 55.60.

The Rainbows had three of the top five finishes in the 100 Back event. Lance Fujioka had a third place finish with his time of 57.17, followed by teammate Michael Jordan Thompson, finishing at 57.40. Josh Anaya finished at 1:00.52.

Aaron Mikuni swam to a second place finish in both the 100 and 200 Flys. He finshed with a time of 1:56.13 in the 100 and 53.78 in the 200.

Thompson swam alone in the 400 IM event, finishing with a time of 4:27.42.

The remainder of the team participates in the third day of the Texas Invitational today. Hawai'i faces off against Oregon State, Central Washington, Dartmouth, and Cincinnati Dec. 19. The event will be held at the Duke Kahanamoku Aquatics Complex and begins at 6 p.m.
