HONOLULU- The University of Hawai`i women's swimming and diving team fell to the UC Santa Barbara Gauchos this morning, 137-81 at the Duke Kahanamoku Aquatics Complex. The women stand 2-6 this season in dual meets.

Yan Chen started off the scoring on the women's side by taking second in the 50 Free. She then went on to shake the pool and qualified for a NCAA "B" standard time of 4:19.54 in the 400 IM event. She also notched the top spot in the 100 Fly, finishing with a time of 56.52.

YingJuan Zhen had a spectacular day with her performance in the 100 Back, finishing with a time of 56.76, an NCAA "B" standard time. She took second place in the 50 Free, clocking in at 24.18.

Hawai`i stood alone in the diving events. Victorya Moreno placed first in platform diving with a score of 254.80, while teamate Maggie Roberts took the top spot in the 1-meter event with a score of 242.55.

The Senior Circuit, a non-scored event will take place on Dec. 6 at 6 pm at the DKAC.
