Results
The University of Hawai`i men and women's swimming and diving teams started their seasons off with a strong showing at the October 11 Senior Circuit.
The men picked up a first place time in the 200-Relay (Peter Thew, Tudor Ignat, Nimrod Palma, Nick Cabebe 1:34.82).
In the 100-back they clocked five out of the top six times: 1-Peter Thew (52.34), 2-Nimrod Palma (55.97), 4-Michael Thompson (56.86), 5-Bill Rollins (56.98), 6-Lance Fujioka (57.10).
Tudor Ignat and David Abrams picked up the top two spots in the 100-breast with times of 57.53 and 1:02.69 respectively.
The top times for the Rainbows in the 200-fly went to Nimrod Palma (1:53.24), Kurt Boehm (1:55.97) and Aaron Mikuni (1:57.95).
UH picked up eight of 10 top times in the 50-free: 1-Cheyne Bloch (21.15), 3-Peter Thew (21.72), 4-Nick Cabebe (21.74), 5-Hugo Duran (21.94), 6-Brett Palmer (22.46), 7-David Abrams (22.67), 8-Chris Braun (22.69), and 10-Bill Rollins (22.77).
Cheyne Bloch clocked the top time in the 100-free with a time of 46.40; Peter Thew, Hugo Duran and Chris Braun also placed in the top five with times of 47.45, 48.54, and 49.70, respectively.
Tudor Ignat picked up a first place finish in the 200-breast with a time of 2:06.93.
In the 500-free Aaron Mikuni (5:09.86) and Andy Lachman (5:19.75) finished one and two. Nimrod Palma (51.13), Cheyne Bloch (51.52), and David Abrahms (54.46) finished one, two and three in the 100-fly. Kurt Boehm picked up a first place finish in the 400-IM with a time of 4:12.66.
The Rainbow Wahine finished second in the 200-Medley (Jaclyn Rosen, Michelle Vos, Stephanie Reguccera, and Morgan Swinburne 1:56.63). Morgan Swinburne also picked up a third place finish in the 200-free with a time of 2:02.00.
In the 1000-free, Shannon Stoddard finished second with a time of 10:53.00; she also picked up another second place with a 5:21.95 time in the 500-free.
Michelle Vos (1:02.68) finished fifth in the 100-back.
Michelle Vos also picked up a second place finish in the 50-free with a time of 25.29 and a third place finish in the 100-free with a time of 55.58.
In the 200-Back Jaclyn Rosen clocked the fastest time at 2:17.05.
In the 100-fly the Rainbow Wahine picked up four of the Top 10 times: 3-Stephanie Regucera (1:03.80), 6-Nicole Pitts (1:04.20), 7-Amanda Birch (1:04.67), 10-Mallory Socha (1:05.76).
