Longtime athletics administrator Roxanne Levenson joined the University of Hawai‘i Athletics Department in 2022 as the Associate Athletics Director for Student-Athlete Services. Levenson has more than 35 years of experience in intercollegiate athletics.
 
Most recently, Levenson was the  Compliance Officer and Senior Woman Administrator (SWA) at Hawai‘i Hilo, where she joined the department in January 2017. Prior to that, she was the Associate Athletics Director for Internal Affairs/SWA at Seattle University from 2010-15 and the Associate Athletics Director/SWA at Pepperdine from 1987-2010.
 
The Watsonville, Calif. native was a member of the senior leadership team at UH Hilo under athletics director Pat Guillen where she assisted in the daily operation and administration of the department and oversaw the compliance and academic units. She also chaired the department’s Gender Equity and Diversity committee and served on the Academic Advisory, Compliance, and Basic Needs committees.

Levenson spent five years at Seattle University, where she was also the Chief Financial Officer/SWA for a majority of that time. In addition to helping with the overall administration of the department, she oversaw all fiscal operations and had NCAA compliance and academics oversight in addition to sports administration oversight. In addition, she directed gender equity and Title IX compliance management and oversaw all human resource processes for the department.

At Pepperdine, Levenson represented the department as the SWA and supervised sports programs, academic support services, compliance, business office, travel, and athletic training. She administered all reports required by the NCAA, federal government, and the West Coast Conference.  

Over her career, she has served on numerous councils and committees with the NCAA, the National Association of Collegiate Women Athletics Administrators/Women Leaders in College Sports, the Western Athletic Conference, West Coast Conference, and PacWest Conference. Her NCAA committee service includes the Committee on Academics/Academic Performance, Championships/Competition Cabinet, Amateurism Cabinet, DI Women’s Volleyball and Women’s Tennis Committees. Levenson also served on the Board of Directors of NACWAA (WLCS). At both Seattle U and Pepperdine, she directed or administered numerous NCAA national and regional and conference championships.

Levenson was named the NACWAA NCAA Division I-AAA Administrator of the Year (2002) and was presented with Pepperdine's Outstanding Service Award (2001).

A graduate of UCLA, Levenson began her career as the Sports Information Director at Pepperdine and also worked as the Sports Coordinator for the Los Angeles Olympic Organizing Committee.

She earned her bachelor's degree in Sociology/Social Psychology from UCLA, a second bachelor's degree in Journalism from Cal State Northridge and completed her master's course work in Communication/Communication Theory from Pepperdine.

Levenson has three sons who live on the mainland.
