Randy Abshier joined the Hawai‘i baseball staff prior to the start of the 2025 season after a five-year collegiate playing career capped off by two seasons as one of the leaders of the Rainbow Warrior pitching staff.

PLAYING & CAREER HIGHLIGHTS

Upon graduation, joined the Hawai‘i coaching staff as a graduate assistant, helping with the pitchers in 2025.
Helped lead UH to its second consecutive 35-win season in 2025, the first time it has won 35-plus games in back-to-back years since 1991-92.
Played two seasons for the Rainbow Warriors from 2023-24 after spending his first three collegiate seasons at Arizona.
Totaled 201 career strikeouts over 195.1 innings pitched, going 16-7 with a 4.19 ERA in 70 career appearances.
Earned CSC Academic All-District honors after senior season in 2024 and was named Big West Pitcher of the Week three times in his UH career.
Got the start in all 30 of his appearances in a Rainbow Warrior uniform.
Led the team with 90 strikeouts to just 24 walks in 2024 with a 5-4 record and 4.00 ERA over 81.0 innings.
Ended the 2024 season on fire, posting a 0.36 ERA over his final four starts of the season, striking out 23 over 25.1 innings in that stretch.
Led the team in 2023 with 15 starts and six wins, going 6-3 with a 4.29 ERA and 69 strikeouts to 23 walks over 71.1 innings.
Appeared in 40 games for Arizona – all in relief – posting a 5-0 record with a 4.40 ERA from 2019-21.
Worked 43.0 innings, striking out 42 while picking up a pair of saves in his three seasons with the Wildcats.
