2021-22 (Sophomore):

Posted a 2-1 record in both singles and doulbes
In singles, defeated UC Irvine's Shreya Pavani in straight sets, 6-3, 7-5 and held off CSUN's Vic Santibanez Luna in a tough two sets, 7-6 (3), 7-5. Her lone loss came in a three-set battle against Washington's Kelly Leung 6-4, 1-6, 2-6
In doubles, notched a win with partner Madison Kim on the No. 3 court against Bucknell's Kate Novak and Anna Lajos, 6-2. Kern and Satsuki Takamura cruised past UC Irvine's Dasee Carter and Emily Fowler, 6-2

Prior to UH:

Played one season at Claremont Mudd Scripps (Division III)
Earned ITA All-American in doubles
Named to the SCIAC All-Academic Team
Posted a career record of 7-2 in singles, and 13-2 in doubles
Reached the ITA West Finals in doubles with Crystal Juan, before falling to teammates Catherine Allen and Justine Leong
Advanced with Juan to the semifinals of the ITA Cup nationals to earn All-America honors
Had a 13-2 doubles record, with the only losses in the ITA fall events (West Region finals and national semis)

Prep:

A 2019 graduate of Corvallis High School (Corvallis, Oregon)
Earned four varsity letters in tennis
Helped lead the Spartans to four-straight district and four-consecutive 5A state championships in tennis
Won the state singles title her final three seasons (2017, '18, '19) and advanced to the championship match in 2016
Went undefeated in 2017, '18, '19
A member of the Key Club, National Honor Society, and Green Club
