Post Game Quotes
Hawai‘i vs. San Jose State
Jan. 17, 2010

UH Head Coach Bob Nash

I thought our guys did a nice job of staying together as a team throughout the night; we had some struggles there in the second half, the shots kind of left us there for a while, but for the most part everybody stepped back up, Hiram gave us two clutch free throws.

I thought Brandon played an absolute fabulous game, but in the locker room we gave the game ball to Roderick Flemings. He had eight assists, was very engaged in the first half looking for his teammates and you don’t get baskets unless you gets assists.

We never doubt ourselves, the fans and all the people can doubt us, but we never doubt ourselves…tonight our guys were optimistic about the game. We don’t think about nothing else but trying to get this win from San Jose and tonight we got it and now we have to turn our attention to a very good New Mexico State team.

I like the way our guys are continuing to fight. Last night, we had a very inspirational meeting with them and they continued to stay together. We’re a team all the way; we may not be as talented…but we’re staying together and working hard.
UH guard Hiram Thompson
On making the two-game winning free throws with 2.1 seconds left...
Those last two turnovers really upset me and then at the end of the game, when I was coming down court, no one was guarding me and I saw an opening and I just attacked, looking to draw some contact.

I remember lying there on the floor thinking this was my chance to redeem myself. The team needed me at the end of the game and I felt I let them down with those two bad passes. I felt it was opportunity to redeem myself and get this win.
