HONOLULU– The University of Hawai'i women's basketball team got off to a blazing start and maintained it throughout the evening in cruising to an 80-58 win over visiting Cal Poly Saturday night at SimpliFi Arena at Stan Sheriff Center. Two nights after one of its worst offensive performances of the year, the Rainbow Wahine responded with its highest point total of the season.

The Rainbow Wahine (9-12, 7-5) completed the season sweep of Cal Poly and notched their fifth consecutive week of splitting Big West  games, positioning them at No. 5 in the conference standings. The Mustangs (6-14, 3-9) have now lost five of their last six and have yet to win a conference road game this season.

Graduate center Kallin Spiller led all scorers with 19 points on 9-of-11 shooting while adding a season-high seven rebounds.. Over her career, in three games against Cal Poly, Spiller is averaging 16.6 points per game.

The 'Bows' offensive production exceeded not only this season's high of 76 against CSUN on January 16th, but was the most scored in a game since the 2020-21 season. UH shot a blazing 55 percent on the night and buried nine three-pointers. As a team, UH accumulated 22 assists, its most in nearly six years.
