'Bows Continue Homestand This Week Against Albany

Kaeo Aliviado is hitting a team-high .333 over the first four games
Game Notes

HONOLULU – The University of Hawai'i Rainbow Warrior baseball team will look to notch its first victory when it welcomes in the University of Albany for a four-game series this week at Les Murakami Stadium. The 'Bows and Great Danes will play Thursday, Feb. 20 (6:35 p.m.), Friday, Feb. 21 (6:35 p.m.), Saturday, Feb. 22 (1:05 p.m.), and Sunday, Feb 23 (1:05 p.m.).

The 'Bows suffered a four-game sweep this past weekend to the sixth-ranked Oregon Ducks, their second in as many seasons. UH did see a handful of solid performances over the series though. Freshman Marcus Doi played both first base and left field and hit .313 with two runs and four RBI. Kaeo Aliviado led the Rainbow Warriors with a .333 batting average while also posting a pair of RBI.

Scott Squier had a solid start on the mound in game three and Scott Kuzminsky went seven innings in the series finale, his first career start. Newcomers Eric Gleese and Bryce Ah Sam both had sound outings out of the bullpen. Gleese allowed just one run in three and two-thirds innings of relief work on opening night, and Ah Sam came into a bases loaded situation in the 10th inning of game three and allowed just one run to score to keep the 'Bows in contention.

Albany will be playing its first games of the season. The Great Danes were originally scheduled to play a slate of games in Cary, N.C. but the trip was cancelled due to inclement weather.
