HONOLULU - The University of Hawai'i Athletics Department has announced fan promotions for its seven home football games during the 2005 season.

"We'll work with various community and campus groups, as well as our media and corporate partners, to develop a myriad of special activities for our fans at our home contests," Herman Frazier, athletics director, said. "We want our fans to enjoy an exciting and action-packed game experience, as they watch our football team play one of the best home schedules in the program's history."

The team's opener against two-time defending national champion USC on Saturday, Sept. 3, has been designated as a "Green-Out" game and all UH fans are encouraged to wear green attire.

The contest against defending WAC champion Boise State on Saturday, Oct. 1, is "Pack The House" night and fans are encouraged to fill Aloha Stadium for the team's home conference opener against the Broncos, who were ranked as high as 10th nationally last season.

The New Mexico State game on Saturday, Oct. 15, is "Homecoming" and all alumni of the university will receive a special ticket discount and there will be an alumni recognition program at halftime.

UH's meeting with conference-rival Fresno State has been designated as "Family Night" and promotional activities will be conducted for family members, including contests, giveaways, and special discounts.

The Utah State game on Saturday, Nov. 12, is "Military Night" and ticket discounts will be extended to all members of the armed services with a valid military identification card. In addition, there will be a special ceremony at halftime to honor the troops.

The contest against Big Ten member Wisconsin on Friday, Nov. 25, will be "Season Ticket Holder Appreciation Night" and special promotional offers will be available to fans with 2005 football and/or women's volleyball season tickets.

The regular-season finale against San Diego State will be "Senior Night" and all UH seniors will be honored following the game.
