Rainbow Wahine Host Dr. Donnis Thompson Invitational Mar. 16-17

The University of Hawai`i Rainbow Wahine golf team will host the 2004 Dr. Donnis Thompson Invitational on March 16-17 in Kaneohe. This will be the second time this season that schools from around the country and world converge in Hawai`i for a UH hosted women's golf tournament. The invitational will be held at the 5,574 yard, par 72 Kaneohe Klipper Golf Course.

The Dr. Donnis Thompson Invitational is a two-day, 54-hole tournament that begins at 7:30 a.m. HST each day with a shotgun start. Thirty-six holes will be played on Tuesday, the 16th, and 18 holes will be played on Wednesday, the 17th, to finish competition.

Scores will be faxed to participating schools and media after completion of play each day. Results will be available at: uhathletics.hawaii.edu.

Headlining the invitational will be Golfweek/Sagarin #3 New Mexico University. Visiting from Japan, Osaka Gakuin, will also be among the nine-team field.

The University of Iowa and Arkansas State were scheduled to compete, but withdrew on March 10.
