The University of Hawai‘i has learned that starting central defender and co-captain,
Erin Schremser has been named to the Verizon Academic All-District 8 Women's Soccer Team today.
Schremser, a native of Kingston, Wash., was one of 11 selections from the district which includes schools from California, Washington, Arizona, Utah, Idaho, Nevada, and Hawaii.
Schresmer who completed her collegiate eligibility this past season, helped lead the Wahine to its first two post-season appearances, as Hawaii finished as Western Athletic Conference runners-up in both 1999 and 2001.
The four-year defensive starter ranks among school career leaders in games started (2nd, 73), and games played (4th, 77).
During her career at Hawaii, Schremser has become one of the most decorated scholar-athletes in the history of the program, also earning two Academic All-WAC honors, two NSCAA Scholar-Athlete Awards, and two WAC Scholar-Athlete laurels.
Schremser, who has a stellar 3.89 cumulative GPA in elementary education, now awaits word on the Verizon Academic All-America team, which will be announced soon.
