Biography

2009 (Track): Qualified for her second straight NCAA Outdoor Championship in the high jump, where she placed 10th...competed in both the pentathlon and heptathlon...finished fourth in the pentathlon at the WAC Indoor Championship and third in the heptathlon at the WAC Outdoor Championship...concluded career with 11 medals at WAC events, including a silver in the high jump and bronze in the triple jump at the outdoor championships...won silver in the triple jump and bronze in the high jump at WAC Indoor Championship...tied for fifth at the NCAA West Regionals, where she competed for the fourth consecutive year...posted team-best marks in the long jump (18-7) and triple jump (39-8.75)...season-best high jump mark was 5-11.25 at the WAC Championship...selected to the USTFCCCA and WAC all-academic teams.


2008 (Track): Earned her first trip to the NCAA Outdoor Championship, where she placed sixth and earned All-America distinction...competed in her third consecutive NCAA West Regionals in the high jump, where she placed ninth...won the silver medal at the WAC Outdoor Championship after clearing 5-11.25...mark ranked second in the WAC and sixth in the West Region...finished seventh in the triple jump with a leap of 38-7 at the WAC Championship...captured gold medal at the WAC Indoor Championship with a leap of 5-8.75...named to ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District VIII second team...also selected to the USTFCCCA and WAC all-academic teams.

2007 (Cross Country): Competed in the Big Wave Invitational.

2007 (Track): Qualified for the NCAA West Regionals in the high jump for the second consecutive year, placing seventh...captured the gold medal at the WAC Outdoor Championship...tied for the eighth best mark in the west region (5-10)...became first UH athlete to clear 6-0...also won gold in the high jump at the WAC Indoor Championship...named to the USTFCCCA and WAC all-academic teams...placed fifth in the high jump for Team Canada at the Junior Pan American Games.

2006 (Cross Country): Competed in one event, the Big Wave Invitational.

2006 (Track): One of two UH athletes to win a gold medal at the WAC Outdoor Championship...won the high jump event after clearing 5-8.75...qualified for the NCAA West Regionals where she finished in a four-way tie for seventh...won silver in the high jump at the WAC Indoor Championship...set a new indoor record with a jump of 5-7.75...finished 14th in the pentathlon at the WAC Championship...also set new personal bests in the long jump and triple jump...named to academic all-WAC team. 

2005 (Cross Country): Competed in two meets, the Big Wave and BYU-Hawai'i Invitationals.

Prep: A 2005 graduate of Vancouver Waldorf School in Canada...event specialty is the high jump...named the school's Female Athlete of the Year in 2005.

Personal: Born in Sackville, New Brunswick, Canada...major is undecided...greatest accomplishment was making the Canadian Youth Team in 2003 and 2005...has one brother and one sister...parents are Jennifer and Mark Sheppard of Vancouver, B.C., Canada. Hero is Helen Keller.
