Biography

2012 Sand (Senior): Recorded a 9-7 overall record…went 2-4 in tournament play…advanced to the quarterfinals of both pairs tournaments hosted by UH, one while playing with Monica Stauber (March 17) and the other with Kristina Kam (April 7)…finished 2-4 in  dual matches while partnering with three different players (Mita Uiato, Courtney Lelepali and Larissa Nordyke)...went 1-3 at the No. 5 flight and 1-1 at the No. 3 flight.

2011 Indoor (Senior): Saw action in 25 matches as either a libero or defensive specialist...posted 58 digs on the season for an average of just under one per set...had a career-high 12 digs at Utah State (9/24)...had nine digs in UH's regional semifinal against USC...posted four digs against UCLA (9/4) and also against Louisiana Tech (11/10)...also had 11 service aces on the season...served four consecutive aces in set two against New Mexico State (11/12) in their WAC regular season finale.

2010 Indoor (Junior): Played in 28 matches, including two starts at defensive specialist...career high eight digs against Utah State (Nov. 24) in WAC Tournament championship match...had six digs vs. Idaho (Nov. 18) and five more against the Vandals (Nov. 23) in the WAC Tournament semifinals...three digs vs. UC Irvine (Sept. 10)...posted two digs each vs. Michigan State (Sept. 3) and San Diego State (Sept. 9)...career-high two aces at San Jose State (Nov. 13).

2009 Indoor: Redshirted.

Prior To UH: Played two seasons at Vanguard University in Costa Mesa, Calif…led team with 3.94 digs per set and 42 service aces in 2008…also led the team with 5.07 digs per set in 2007.

Prep: A 2007 graduate of Los Alamitos High School in California…played three years at Brethren Christian before transferring to Los Alamitos for her senior year…earned Defensive Player of the Year honors at Los Alamitos…earned team MVP honors at Brethren Christian all three years, also earning one first-team and two second-team all-league honors…helped Los Alamitos to a Division I state championship in 2007. 

Personal: Born Alexandra Griffiths in La Habra, Calif…parents are Katherine and Tony Griffiths of Seal Beach, Calif.
