HONOLULU – University of Hawai'i men's volleyball head coach
Charlie Wade announced the signing of Brook Sedore and J.J. Mosolf for the 2012 season.
Sedore, a 6-foot-5 outside hitter from Alberta, Canada, is a member of Alberta's 19U Provincial Team. This summer, Sedore competed with his club team, Rise Above VBC, at the USA Volleyball Boys' Junior National Championships where RAVBC took second in the 17U Club Division and Sedore was named to the all-tournament team.
He also competed with Team Alberta in capturing the 2010 Artic Games. Last week, he and his Grand Prairie Composite High School captured the Alberta Schools Athletic Association 4A High School Volleyball Championships for the second straight year.
“Brook is a highly skilled player, whose focus and passion for the game our fans will love,” Wade said. “He has an impressive resume as a player and will compete for playing time immediately. We are very excited about Brook becoming a Warrior.”
Mosolf, a 6-foot-6 opposite, attends Hart High School in Valencia, Calif. Last year, he was named to the all-Foothill League first team after leading his team to the first round of the CIF-Southern Section Division II playoffs.
He plays club ball with Legacy Volleyball Club and played for the U.S. team at the 2010 European Global Challenge in Maribor, Slovenia. Mosolf is also an accomplished beach volleyball player most recently taking third place at the boys' 18U division at the Tuesday California Beach Volleyball Association tournament.
“J.J. is big athletic guy who can play multiple positions and plays bigger than his 6-6 frame,” Wade said. “His desire to exceed in everything he does and his commitment to meeting all of his responsibilities separated him from others during the recruiting process. We are thrilled to have him in our program.”
