Biography

2016-17 (Senior): Earned all-Big West first team honors… a team tri-captain…led team in points (15.7 ppg), rebounds (5.8 rpg) and steals (35)…second on the squad in three-pointers made (42) and minutes per game (30.2)…topped the Big West in scoring (18.5 ppg) during league games… shot 52 percent from the floor and 80 percent from the line in league play…in overall games, surpassed 20 points in 13 games…scored 30 or more points four times…became the first UH player in 21 years and just the fifth in school history to score 30 or more four times in a season…became the only UH player to have that many in conference games alone…scored a career-high 34 points twice, tied for the most by a Big West player all season…the first came at home against UC Santa Barbara (Jan. 28) on 11-of-14 shooting, along with nine rebounds in a blowout win…also scored 34 points and added eight rebounds to lift UH to a road win at CSUN (Jan. 28)...also scored 30 points in wins vs. CSUN (Jan. 18) and at Cal Poly (Feb. 18)…added nine rebounds and five assists in the win over Cal Poly…became the first UH player since Michael Kuebler (2003-04) to score 25 or more points in three consecutive games (25 vs. LBSU; 30 vs. CSUN; 26 vs. UC Davis)...tallied a team-best three double-doubles on the season…double-doubles came versus Florida Atlantic (15 points, 11 rebounds; Nov. 14), UH Hilo (24 points, 10 rebounds; Nov. 22) and CSUN (30 points, 12 rebounds; Jan. 18), all UH wins…drained a season-best six three-pointers in the win over UH Hilo…scored 25 points and hit the game-tying layup to beat the regulation buzzer in UH’s comeback overtime win vs. Long Beach State (Jan. 14)…scored 20 of his points after halftime…was named Big West Player of the Week for his performance, one of two such honors he earned on the year…also earned weekly honors on Feb. 6 after averaging 20.5 ppg in a pair of UH road wins at UC Riverside and CSUN…named to the Outrigger Resorts Rainbow Classic All-Tournament Team after averaging 16.3 ppg and 7.3 rpg in the season-opening weekend.

Prior to UH:  Played three seasons at UCLA and was a member of two NCAA Sweet Sixteen teams…played in 71 career games for the Bruins with totals of 84 points (1.2 ppg), 88 rebounds (1.2 rpg), 44 assists, 10 steals, and an assist-to-turnover ratio of 1.7…enjoyed his most productive season as a sophomore in 2014-15…appeared in all 36 games as a reserve guard with career-high averages of 1.3 points, 1.8 rebounds and 11.4 minutes played per game…scored a career-high six points in UCLA’s win over USC in the Pac-12 Tournament, while adding two rebounds, two assists and one block…totaled a season-high five rebounds in three games…also played a career-high 25 minutes in the Bruins’ semifinal loss to Arizona in the Pac-12 Tournament.

Prep: A 2013 graduate of at Palma High School in Salinas, Calif...a four-year letterwinner…earned CalHiSports.com second-team all-state Division IV honors…averaged 18.0 points and 14.0 rebounds per game as a senior…named All-County Most Valuable Basketball Player by The Monterey Herald as a junior (2012) and senior (2013)…captured Player of the Year honors from The Salinas Californian as a junior…missed a portion of his senior season (2012-13) with a fractured right wrist…had averaged nearly 25 points per game before suffering the wrist injury on Dec. 21, 2012…scored a career-high 36 points against Colfax in the second game of his senior season…guided Palma HS to the Central Coast Section Division IV semifinals as a junior and senior and to the league title as a freshman and junior…averaged just under 18 points, six assists and six rebounds per game as a junior (2012)…finished his junior season having averaged 23 points per game in the team’s final eight contests…named Tri-County Athletic League MVP as a junior (2012)…guided Palma HS to a 17-9 overall record as a junior, including an 11-1 mark in league action…averaged 17.5 points per game as a sophomore (2011) and 10.0 points per game as a freshman (2010)…also competed for the Bay Area Hoosiers…also was a two-year varsity football letterwinner…competed at free safety and wide receiver on the varsity team as a sophomore and junior…guided Palma HS to the league title as a sophomore and to the CIF Central Coast Section title as a junior…earned second-team all-state accolades as a junior.
