Biography

2011-12 (Junior): Recorded two new personal bests at the Arena Invitational (Nov. 17) in the 100 breast (59.04) and 200 IM (1: 52.02)…also swam in the MPSF Championships (Feb. 15) and set a personal best in the 200 breast (2:01.46). 

2010-11 (Sophomore): Helped the Warriors win their first Conference USA Invitational championship title…broke personal bests in all three events…finished fourth in the 200 IM (1:51.02) and in the 200 breaststroke (2:02.92)…also took seventh in the 400 IM (4:03.22)…swam in a dual-meet against Wyoming (Jan. 28-29) where he took first in the 400 IM (4:04.07) and earned a personal best of 59.59 in the 100 breast after finishing 8th.

2009-10 (Freshman): Earned a personal best at the Conference USA Championships (Feb. 24-27) in the 200 individual medley (1:54.40)…placed third in the 200 breaststroke (2:12.17) and 200 IM (1:59.28) against Stanford (Oct. 10)…earned a personal best after placing sixth in the 200 breast (2:10.67) against California (Oct. 9).

Prep: A 2009 graduate of Marianas High School in Saipan…member of the Saipan swim team and Tsunami swim club…received most outstanding swimmer of the year and athlete of the year.
Personal: Born in Saipan…has one sibling…plans to major in marine biology…parents are Emelita and Ely Wong of Saipan.
