HONOLULU – The 2013 University of Hawai'i women's volleyball schedule was announced Wednesday and includes 18 home matches at the Stan Sheriff Center. The schedule features defending national champion Texas and 2012 NCAA Tournament participants UCLA, San Diego, and Santa Clara.

The Rainbow Wahine open the season hosting the Chevron Rainbow Wahine Invitational where they will kick off the 2013 campaign against last season's NCAA national champion Texas Longhorns on Friday, August 30. UH then plays UTEP on Saturday, Aug 31 and San Diego on Sunday, Sept. 1.
 
The 'Bows will then host the Hawaiian Airlines Wahine Volleyball Classic which will run from Sept. 5-7. UH opens with former Western Athletic Conference foe New Mexico State and will also play last season's NCAA first round opponent Santa Clara and 2011 national champion and long-time rival UCLA.

UH wraps up its home tournament schedule with the Verizon Volleyball Challenge beginning Sept. 12, hosting Portland State, Northwestern, and Arizona. The 'Bows will then travel to Kansas for the Shocker Volleyball Classic hosted by Wichita State, their first out-of-state preseason tournament since 2005.

The Rainbow Wahine will then begin defense of their Big West Conference title when they host Cal State Fullerton at the Stan Sheriff Center on Friday, Sept. 27. The 'Bows will be eyeing their 19^th straight conference championship overall, WAC and Big West combined. Last season UH ran the table with a perfect 18-0 conference record.

The 'Bows went 27-3 last year, advancing to the NCAA Tournament for the 31^st time in program history before falling to Washington in the second round.
