GULF SHORES, Ala. – The AVCA announced its 2012 sand volleyball All-Americans with University of Hawai`i freshman
Jane Croson earning a spot on the team. Croson was one of just 10 players and among three freshmen selected to the inaugural team.
The All-America team was selected by coaches in attendance at the AVCA National Championship and announced following Saturday's championship of the team competition, won by Pepperdine. The Waves placed four players on the squad, while Florida State had three players selected. National runner-up Long Beach State placed two players.
Croson, a native of Lakewood, Calif., has tallied more than 20 wins this season with the majority of her matches at the No. 1 flight with partner

Croson and Lee, along with the duo
Emily Hartong and
Elizabeth Stoltzman will continue play in the pairs competition of the AVCA National Championship on Sunday. Croson-Lee garnered the No. 7 seed and will face No. 10 seed Sara Shaw and Geena Urango of USC in the round of 16 of Sunday's single-elimination tournament. Stoltzman-Hartong earned the No. 8 seed and will take on No. 9 Haleigh Hampton and Chelsea Cabrajac of Long Beach State.
Sunday's action starts at 8 a.m. CT, with quarterfinals scheduled for 9 a.m. Both semifinals and the championship match will be held on center court, beginning at 11 a.m.
