COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – The Mountain West announced the Academic All-Mountain West Team for its fall sports Wednesday with 20 student-athletes from the University of Hawai'i football team earning recognition.
Among those recognized was a four-time honoree
Penitito Faalologo (DL) while and
Noah Borden (LS) was a three-time recipient. Receiving the award for the second time were
Isaiah Bernard (WR),
Dru Brown (QB),
Tevarua Eldridge (DL),
Asotui Eli (OL),
Solomon Matautia (LB),
Kaimana Padello (DL),
Ben Scruton (DB), and
Russell Williams, Jr. (LB).
To be eligible for selection, student-athletes must have completed at least one academic term at the member institution while maintaining a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or better, and be a starter or significant contributor on their athletic team.
The UH contingent was among a league-record 618 student-athletes honored by the Mountain West.
