HONOLULU – Thirty-six University of Hawai'i student-athletes walked among the hundreds of graduates at the Winter Commencement Exercises, held Saturday at the Stan Sheriff Center. The list includes current and former student-athletes from 10 different sports programs.
The largest segment represented in Saturday's program was the football team, which had 18 student-athlete graduates earning their degrees. Topping the women's programs, track and field brought seven student-athletes, four of which walked early due to the overlap of the Big West Championships and Spring Commencement. Sailing was represented by three (3) graduates, while women's tennis had two (2), and baseball, men's golf, women's diving, men's tennis, women's volleyball and water polo each had one (1) graduate walking.
Each of the graduates received an H-logo courtesy of the UH Letterwinners Club and were honored in a pre-graduation reception breakfast along with their families.
