purchase online, at the Stan Sheriff Center Box Office (Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.) or by calling 944-BOWS (2697) during the same hours.
The 2016 season marks the beginning of the
Nick Rolovich era. The former record-setting Rainbow Warrior quarterback was hired last December to take over the program after spending four years as offensive coordinator at Mountain West rival Nevada. Rolovich has assembled a staff that includes former Warriors
Abe Elimimian (secondary),
Brian Smith (running backs), and
Craig Stutzmann (quarterbacks) while
Kevin Lempa returns to the program as defensive coordinator more than a decade after his original stint.
This year's schedule features six home games at Aloha Stadium – a pair of non-conference games against UT Martin (Sept. 10) and Massachusetts (Nov. 26) and four MW games versus Nevada (Oct. 1), UNLV (Oct. 15), New Mexico (Oct. 29), and Boise State (Nov. 12).
UH returns 16 starters – including nine on offense – and 44 lettermen from last season's team. Running back
Paul Harris, who became just the second Warrior to surpass 1,000-yards rushing in the past 23 seasons returns along with four of his starting offensive linemen –
Dejon Allen,
Asotui Eli,
RJ Hollis, and
Elijah Tupai. Four of the team's top five receivers in terms of yardage also return –
Marcus Kemp,
Devan Stubblefield,
Dylan Collie, and
Isaiah Bernard – in addition to quarterback
Ikaika Woolsey, who has 19 career starts in his fourth season with the Warriors.
Linebackers
Jerrol Garcia-Williams and
Jahlani Tavai will anchor the Warriors on the defensive side of the ball this season along with returning starters defensive lineman
Kory Rasmussen and safety Daniel Lewis, Jr. Kicker
Rigoberto Sanchez also returns after a stellar rookie season in which he handled both placekicking and punting duties.
