HONOLULU – The University of Hawai'i women's basketball team dropped its' third-straight game to Brigham Young, 67-56, Thursday night at the George Q. Cannon Activities Center in the Tom Weston Classic. UH drops to a 4-4, 0-0 Big West record, while the Cougars advance 5-3, 0-0 Westcoast Conference.
After falling behind in the second quarter to the Cougars, who pulled off a solid 13-2 midway through, UH trailed 31-18 by halftime. The Rainbow Wahine struggled from the field in the first half, limited to just 7-30-23.3 FG% while BYU went 13-29-44.8 FG%.
Following intermission, UH refocused and improved to a 14-30-46.7 FG%, but the Cougars held the upper hand going 12-23 from the field, and sinking 9 of 11 free throw opportunities. The 'Bows held BYU to just two offensive rebounds in the second half, while reaching for eight offensive and nine defensive rebounds in their own favor.

Leah Salanoa fuelled a 15-5 run with a career-high three treys. However, it wasn't enough to pull ahead of the Cougars as the game clock wound down.

Kalei Adolpho led the Rainbow Wahine with a career-high 17 points, nine rebounds, two assists and one steal.
Destiny King also tallied her third-straight double-figure scoring night after leading the 'Bows with 11 points, going 5-6 at the free throw line.
UH continues the Tom Weston Classic on Friday night in Laie, O'ahu as they take on No. 14 Texas A&M, their third nationally ranked opponent this season, at 5:00 p.m. at the Cannon Activities Center.
