Carlos earned her second win in as many days, allowing two runs on six hits in four innings of work. Parnaby came in relief for the second straight day to earn her second save of the season. It was the fifth save of her career. She threw the final three innings, not allowing a hit with three K's.

Washington started the game by loading the bases with one out in the first inning on a fielding error and a pair of singles. But Carlos escaped when third baseman Alyssa Villalpando started a 5-2-3 double play to end the inning.

In the third inning, the Huskies' Kaitlin Inglesby drilled a two-run home run over the left-centerfield fence to give UW an early 2-0 lead. Later with two outs, UW drew two walks but then hit a slow liner to short to end the rally.

But Hawai`i would answer right back in the bottom of the frame. Brynne Buchanan led the inning off beating out an opposite-field single hit deep in the hole at short. After a popfly to second, Wartner laced a single through the right-side of the infield to put runners at first and second. A groundout to second pushed both runners into scoring position for Jessica Iwata, who came through with a clutch, opposite-field single that bounced into the rightfield corner to score both runners, knotting the game at 2-2.

Washington loaded the bases again in the fourth inning on three walks. But with two outs but Carlos was able to get out of the jam with a fly out to right to stymie UW.

In the bottom of the fourth, Carlos hit her first career home run which was a line-shot over the leftfield fence. It also marked the first home run for UH this season that gave the 'Bows a 3-2 lead.

In the top of the fifth, the Huskies got their first two batters on base on a walk and a single up the middle. Parnaby then entered the game and got the next batter to line out into a double play. On the play, second baseman Kaile Nakao climbed the ladder to snare a line drive and then tossed to Iwata who was covering second base to get two quick outs. Parnaby then struck out the next batter to end the inning.

Hawai`i added two more runs in the bottom of the fifth. Kelly Majam and Wartner both reached on walks issued by relief pitcher Joclyn Cater who had just entered the game. Bryana Walker, the original starter, then re-entered into the game and got a strike out. Iwata then hit a grounder to third, but the Majam slid past the third baseman to load the bases on the fielder's choice. Sharla Kliebenstein then drilled a single to leftfield to score Majam from third. On the play, the throw was cut off as the second baseman tried to pick off Iwata who had rounded second wide, but the throw sailed into centerfield allowing pinch runner Jazmine Zamora to sprint home safely for UH's fifth run.

UW's Walker threw 6.0 innings, giving up three runs on six hits with 10 strike outs and a walk. Cater was charged with two runs off of the two walks issued in the fifth.

UH is now 4-8 against the Huskies, and the win snapped a four-game losing streak dating back to 2005.
