HONOLULU – The University of Hawai'i Rainbow baseball program held its annual Alumni game Saturday, with the varsity defeating the former 'Bows, 13-1. UH scored all of its runs in the first three innings to win handily.
Matt Sisto pitched six complete innings for the Rainbows allowing one run on two hits with a pair of strikeouts. Freshman
Lawrence Chew pitched the final two innings of the eight-inning ball game, allowing no hits and no runs with two strikeouts.
Breland Almadova led UH at the plate, hitting 5-5 with three runs and two RBI. A.J. Bayus went 3-3 with one run and two RBI, and
Collin Bennett added two hits, two runs, and three RBI.
The play of the game was made in the seventh inning when the Alumni turned a 5-4-3 triple play.

Lenny Linsky and
Alex Capaul, all members of last season's team, turned the play while playing at third, second, and first, respectively.
Sam Spangler, Mark Rodrigues, Harrison Kuroda, Jayson Kramer, and Paul Ah Yat all took the mound for the Alumni, who featured a handful of players on their way to spring training.
Pi'ikea Kitamura batted 2-3 with one run and two RBI, and newcomer
Max Duval, who got the start at first base, added two hits, two runs, and two RBI.
There were 2,157 tickets issued for the game, and a turnstile count of 510.
The Rainbows begin the season this weekend (Feb.17-20) with a four-game series against Oregon. The season opener is set for 6:35 p.m. on Friday.
