Football To Unveil Under Armour Wounded Warrior Project Uniforms

Baltimore, Md. – Under Armour (NYSE:UA), the leading athletic performance apparel and footwear brand, today unveiled its annual specially designed football uniforms in support of Wounded Warrior Project® (WWP), a non-profit organization that provides programs and services for injured service members and their families. This year, the University of Hawai'i will feature the head-to-toe custom uniforms on November 24 as part of Under Armour's UA Freedom initiative, developed to help raise awareness and support for our nation's military and public safety officials.

The patriotic, freedom-inspired uniforms will be worn by UH during its November 24th match-up with UNLV. It will feature coldblack® technology that blocks the heat of the sun to help athletes feel cooler and more comfortable. These designated games mark the fourth year Under Armour has created customized uniforms, including cleats, gloves, and helmets to benefit WWP. To further honor all veterans, each team will replace the last names on the back of their jerseys with a core value declaration – Duty, Honor, Courage, Commitment, Integrity, Country, or Service. Team personnel will also pay tribute to the veterans with specially designed sideline gear that features the WWP patch. Following the game the jerseys will be auctioned off on the schools' websites with 100% of proceeds benefitting WWP.

Boston College will also wear the uniforms during its October 27th game against Maryland.

“We remain grateful for the continued service of our Armed Forces, and we recognize how important it is to support our nations' heroes that have made the ultimate sacrifice to protect our country,” said Matt Mirchin, SVP Brand and Sports Marketing, Under Armour. “We are privileged to work with Wounded Warrior Project®, the University of Hawai'i and Boston College to carry on the tradition of these special games.”

In addition to the game uniforms, Under Armour is developing custom UA and WWP co-branded fan gear that will be made available on UA.com and at campus bookstores at each university. Fans can also visit UA.com and select retailers to purchase custom footwear. Between August 2012 and December 2012, Under Armour will make a donation of over $1 million to the Wounded Warrior Project benefiting injured service members and their families.

“Under Armour has been an important supporter of Wounded Warrior Project®,” said Steve Nardizzi, executive director, Wounded Warrior Project. “The donations and awareness raised by Under Armour will help support Wounded Warriors and their families throughout their recovery process and their transition back to everyday life.”

Consumers can also gift a Wounded Warrior Project® UA Backpack to injured heroes. Each backpack contains WWP-embellished Under Armour product, toiletries and other comfort items and is presented to Wounded Warriors recovering in military medical facilities across the country and in Landstuhl, Germany. To date, Under Armour has sent more than 6,500 backpacks to wounded heroes since the brand's involvement starting in 2010.
