SAN DIEGO—The University of Hawai'i women's tennis team continued play on Day 2 of the USTA/ITA Southwest Regional Tennis Championship hosted by San Diego State at the Barnes Tennis Center.
 
In singles on Friday, senior Katarina Poljakova won her Round of 32 match to start the day over UC Santa Barbara's Kiersten Meehan, 6-0, 6-1. But later in the day, in the Round of 16, Poljakova fell to sixth-seeded Skylar Morton of UCLA, 6-1, 6-1.
 
Poljakova then paired with junior Xenia Suworowa to play in a Round of 32 doubles match against the No. 4-ranked pair of Morton and Channelle Van Nguyen of UCLA. UH battled, but fell to the Bruins' duo, 8-6.

In consolation action, sophomore Rebecca Faltusz defeated UCLA's Dylan Kirsch, 6-2, 6-3.
 
On Saturday, four Rainbow Wahine will be playing consolation matches. (See schedule below)
