HONOLULU - The University of Hawai'i Rainbow baseball team finished the season ranked No. 17 nationally in home attendance, and tops in the west region. UH averaged 3,320 per game with a grand total of 116,222 for the season in 35 contests. The 2011 attendance numbers were also the highest in five years.
The nearest WAC competitor was Fresno State who finished No. 32 overall with an average home attendance of 2,019. Hawai'i's home finale against San Jose State boasted the largest crowd of the season (4,879).
Louisiana State led the nation averaging 10,534 per game with a total attendance figure of 400,295 for the season.
The Rainbows finished the season at 34-25, and won a share of the WAC regular season championship for the first time since 1992. They earned the No. 1 seed in the conference tournament, but fell in the title game to Fresno State.
