HONOLULU – The University of Hawai'i men's volleyball team will host its annual alumni match Saturday, April 16 at the Stan Sheriff Center. An alumni intrasquad match begins at 5:00 p.m. followed by the featured alumni vs. varsity match at 7:00 p.m.
More than 20 former Warriors have already signed up to participate. The list includes Pedro Azenha, Brian Beckwith, Alex Berganio, Sean Carney,
Justin Ching, Kirk Christman, Chris Crabb,
Cory Enriques, Nemo Komar, Jerry Kukuruda, Maulia LaBarre, Sivan Leoni, Vernon Podlewski, Victor Poppinga, Manny Relator, Joshua Stanhiser,
Joseph Strotman, Kimo Tuyay, Curt Vaughan, Ernie Vidhina, and Eyal Zimet.
Alumni week begins with the UH Men's Volleyball Golf Tournament, Thursday, April 14 at Olomana Golf Links. The fundraiser benefits the men's volleyball program.
The Warriors (15-12, 13-9 MPSF) concluded the regular season last week by splitting a pair of matches with No. 1 USC in Honolulu. UH will next compete in the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation Tournament which begins with the first round, Saturday, April 23. Hawai'i will either receive the No. 5 or 6 seed in the tournament.
In this week's AVCA Division I-II Coaches Top 15 Poll, the Warriors catapulted to a tie for No. 6, their highest ranking since the first week of the season when they were No. 5.
