Rainbow Wahine Bolt To No. 3

LEXINGTON, Ky. – In the latest AVCA Top 25 Coaches Poll, the University of Hawai'i women's volleyball team (26-1) jumped three spots to No. 3. The rankings come on the eve of UH's opening match of the Western Athletic Conference Tournament, and were based on matches played through Sunday, Nov. 20.

The top-seeded Rainbow Wahine open the WAC Tournament Tuesday, Nov. 22, at 7:30 p.m. They will play the winner of Monday night's match between Utah State and Fresno State. Hawai'i earned the top seed and first-round bye after winning the WAC regular season for the 16th time.

At the WAC Tournament banquet held Sunday night, six Hawai'i players earned all-conference selections, with Kanani Danielson receiving her third player of the year honor.

The ranking is the highest of the season for the 'Bows who also received five No. 1 votes.

The WAC Tournament begins Monday with first round action at the Orleans Arena in Las Vegas, Nev.
