HONOLULU - UH women's volleyball player
Kanani Danielson was named last month as a finalist for the 2011 Lowe's Senior CLASS Award in collegiate volleyball. The voting has been open, with Danielson trailing by just over five percentage points. The ballot is open to anyone and closes Nov. 21.
To be eligible, student-athletes must be classified as an NCAA Division I senior and have notable achievements in four areas of excellence – community, classroom, character and competition.
The finalists were chosen by a media committee from the list of 30 candidates announced in August. Nationwide fan voting begins immediately to determine the winner, which will be announced at the 2011 Division I Women's Volleyball Championship held in San Antonio Dec. 15 and 17.
