HONOLULU – The University of Hawai'i Warrior football team got back on the winning track with a 45-34 Homecoming win over New Mexico State Saturday night at Aloha Stadium. The Warriors improved to 4-3 overall and 2-1 in the Western Athletic Conference.  
 
UH never trailed, scoring the first two touchdowns of the game and cruising to its 10^th straight Homecoming win and 12^th in the last 13 seasons. Bryant Moniz passed for two touchdowns and rushed for two more to get UH back on the winning track after a disappointing road loss at San Jose State the week prior.
 
The Warriors continued it domination of the Aggies (3-4, 1-2 WAC)—moving to a perfect 8-0 all-time and scoring 34 or more points in seven of the eight meetings.
 
New Mexico State was able to stick around with big plays as three of its five touchdowns were plays of 40 yards or more. However, UH held a 27-14 halftime lead and scored the first touchdown of the third quarter to extinguish any Aggie comeback hopes. UH has now won its last nine regular season home games dating back to last season and won for the 12^th time in its last 14 conference games.
 
Moinz finished with 326 yards of total offense – 264 passing and 62 yards rushing. The senior connected with Justin Clapp on a 24-yard strike and Allen Sampson on a 25-yard strike, while rushing for scores of 17 and 19 yards.
 
The Warrior offense racked up a season-high 227 yards on the ground, including 90 yards and two touchdowns by Joey Iosefa and  a career-high 75 yards by Sterling Jackson. Meanwhile, UH's special teams also came up with a huge play with the program's first blocked punt for a touchdown in 10 years. John Hardy-Tuliau blocked an NMSU punt and Kamalani Alo returned it 13 yards to help give UH a 14-0 first-quarter lead.  
 
The Warriors next head back to the road where they will face Idaho on Saturday, Oct. 29. Kickoff is set for 2:00 p.m. PT (11:00 a.m. HT)
